Philosophy of Elite Development ProgramTo provide an Elite pathway that ensures players considered talented are given the bestopportunity to fulfil their potential.AimsTo provide a positive football experience to a select group of footballers considered talentedfrom across the WAFC football zones.To deliver a unique coaching opportunity for talented youth through a specially designedprogram delivered by West Adelaide coaches and Senior SANFL players.To inform young players through information seminars on a range of relevant issues inbecoming an elite footballer delivered by specialistsHow the Program works24 hours contact time with Elite footballers in a controlled environment over two 4 day campscompared to 1hr/week over 14 weeksCoaching ratio of 1: 5 compared to one coach of a large squadTo get to know the footballer better by having a group mentor over the duration of the campTo allow our country and metro boys to interact from an earlier age.To provide West Adelaide zoned youth the best opportunities to fulfil their potential.To allow minimal impact on school and club life while maximising development time.How the program will be delivered.40 boys will be divided into 4 groups of 10Each group will have a generalist coach and specialist coachThe day will be divided into specific focus areas: stationary technique and coordination work,Handball movement, kicking movement, specific skill and technique development, Advancemovement and game development.7
