City of Bradford Metropolitan District CouncilLocal Development Framework For Bradford1.3 The Role of Developers in the <strong>Landscape</strong> ProcessIn order to achieve successful integration of development into the landscape andrestoration, retention and enhancement of local landscape character the Council expectsdevelopers to follow a systematic approach as outlined on the following pages. Theobjective is to ensure that the aims of development are consistent with the principles ofsustainability, landscape enhancement and nature conservation. Proper consideration oflandscape issues should not be seen as a financial burden but as a positive benefit interms of its value to a development.The size of a proposed development and/or the relative sensitivity of the site will dictatethe extent of details expected to be provided. The Council will seek to advise developersof its expectations within the early stages, through pre-application advice anddiscussions. Notwithstanding this, the principles contained within these guidance notesshould still be relevant to anyone involved in the development process whether on a largeor small scale, and will be applicable to all development.There are three main sections to this guidance note which must be taken intoconsideration as part of any proposal.
