encourage <strong>the</strong>m <strong>to</strong> keep borrowing <strong>to</strong> a minimum and minimize <strong>the</strong> chances ofdefault. Finally, some law students may secure in-depth financial counselingthrough university offices designed for this purpose.In addition <strong>to</strong> creating law school LRAPs, law schools should work with state andlocal bar <strong>as</strong>sociations and foundations, IOLTA programs and o<strong>the</strong>r LRAP advocates<strong>to</strong> support government, statewide and o<strong>the</strong>r loan repayment <strong>as</strong>sistance programsfor public service lawyers.Given its unique role in its community, a law school is well-positioned <strong>to</strong> workwith o<strong>the</strong>r entities <strong>to</strong> promote and support LRAPs for public service employers.Since each law school is different, <strong>the</strong> level and type of involvement will vary.
