The double clutch transmission with mounted clutch
The LuK Dry Double Clutch
Vehicles that deliver driving fun and comfort with
lower fuel consumption are very popular with end
customers these days. The LuK dry double clutch
represents a major step forward in energy effi ciency
and a decrease in fuel consumption and emissions
associated with it. The double-clutch gearbox using
a dry double clutch was fi rst introduced with much
fanfare in 2008 in Europe, and it soon became a
market success.
The benefi ts of the LuK double clutch are obvious.
It combines the comfort of a traditional planetary
automatic gearbox with the effi ciency of a manual
transmission. The working principle of the double
clutch is simple. It consists of two clutches mounted
to two separate drive shaft s. One clutch shift s the
uneven gears, while the second clutch controls disengagement
and engagement of the even gears and
reverse. Because it does away with hydraulic support
systems, and due to the dry clutch’s high level of
professional ssional removal and installation.
of over 10 perce percent can be realized compared to a wet
clutch, and up tthe
6 percent less fuel consumption
compared to a manual m transmission. Emissions can
be lowered by bbetween
12 and 18 percent compared
to a convention
conventional automatic gearbox as well.
