K I N G S P O R T C I T Y S C H O O : S T U D E N T H A N D B O O KTARDINESS3 Tardies - 1 day ASD (After-School Detention*)6 Tardies - 1 day ISS (In-School Suspension) or 1 week lunch detention (principaldiscretion)9 Tardies - 2 days ISS (In-School Suspension) or 2 weeks lunch detention(principal discretion) and referral to Tribe Council12 Tardies - 1 day (3 hours) Saturday School (9 a.m. – 12 Noon)**15 Tardies - 2 days (6 hours) Saturday School (9 a.m.—12 Noon)**18 Tardies - More serious consequences including the possibility of enrollment atCora Cox Academy, Truancy Intervention, and Out of School Suspension.<strong>Student</strong>s who are tardy for more than 10 percent of anyone class will lose the privilegeof attending Prom or participating in Graduation.*Failure to serve After-School Detention could result in assignment to lunch detentionor Saturday School assignment.** Failure to serve Saturday School consequence could result in Out-of-SchoolConsequence or alternative placement.ARRIVAL TO SCHOOLHigh school students should not be on campus prior to 7 a.m. <strong>Student</strong>s can be in thefollowing parts of the campus between 7 a.m. and 7:30 a.m.: Cafeteria, Library, MathPod, Science Pod, Social Studies Pod and English Pod. <strong>Student</strong>s are not to be in anyother part of the building prior to 7:30 a.m. <strong>Student</strong>s are to remain on campus uponarrival.LATE ARRIVAL TO SCHOOLAll high school students arriving late to school must sign-in through the main office. Astudent must sign-in even if they arrive during class change or lunches. <strong>Student</strong>sarriving more than ten (10) minutes late for class will not be admitted without an admitslip from the front office.LATE PICK-UP/LOITERINGThere is to be no loitering in the high school parking lots, the activities lobby, ramps orthe dome before or after school. <strong>Student</strong>s on campus after 3:15 p.m. must beunder the direct supervision of a teacher, coach or administrator.Early Dismissal from SchoolAny high school student who has to leave campus must have a note from aparent/guardian stating the reason for dismissal and where the parent can becontacted. The school will make every attempt to verify notes requesting earlydismissal or late arrival. <strong>Student</strong>s must bring their note to the office before thebeginning of the school day. Doing so ensures ample time for the staff to verify therequest.Upon verification, the student will be issued an “early dismissal form” which willrelease the student from class at the assigned time. At that point they may sign outimmediately through the office and depart. When a student reports to sign out withoutan “early dismissal form” a delay will occur while the staff takes steps to verify the33
