his matured thoughts. Those who want to go in deep of suchthought, Ramayana is a treasurer as several such instances arefound in the tract. In fact, Maharshi Valmiki’s work has inspiredinnumerable litterateurs. For common man too, Maharshi Valmiki has given variousinspiring examples, which could play important roles inresolving day-to-day problems. Valmiki has used words`vakyagya`, `vakya visharad`, vakya kovid`, `vak sarthi` . `vakvidambar` etc and its objective is to clarify the role of `vaksanskar` in the routine life. If the people are competent toexpress their opinions in descent and competent language, then domestic, social, national or even global problems couldbe resolved. `Param Pavani` Sita, in a context asked Ravana, whether there is no good person to show you the right moralepath and if there is any, you are not paying any attention tohis advice. It is a long standing question, which needs to bepondered upon by all the responsible persons and consideringthat the question has been put to them, search for the properreply. In Vak Ramayana of Valmiki Ramayana, `vak sanskriti`means culture to speak, has found very crucial place. In fact, Ramayana has presented two cultures prominently. One is of accumulation and pleasure while other one is ofrestraint and discipline. The first culture was flourished byRavana while Dusseratha followed the second one and hence, they could be named as `dashmukh` culture and `Dusseratha`culture. Dushmukh, with all his 10 heads, wanted everything forhimself while Dusseratha restricted all his 10 `indria` (senses)in control and thus, proceeded in right direction. No questionof wandering or deviating from the right path. The strugglebetween these two opposite cultures is the main reason for thedifferent problems, which ultimately endanger peace. In Lanka,Kishkindha or Ayodhya, three dimensions of this problem comeupand in all three circumstances, cultured persons like Rama,Bharat, Sugrieve and Vibhishan struck balance and thus savedvaluable human lives. This cultural conflict is not a problem tothe safety and prosperity of the human being but a warning toit. Ramayana presents its solution.Ramayana comprises of many other cultures – from `Veda`culture to `Geedh` (vulture) culture. It is surprising that justwith the touch of Valmiki, vultures (Jatayu and Sampati) reachthe highest level of spirit of self-less service to the mankind, sacrifice and intelligence. In Ramayana, Maharshi Valmiki notonly highlighted human culture but also stressed on natureculture.`Akash`(space), `vayu`(air), `agni` (fire), `jal` (water)and `prithvi` (earth)- thesefive basic elements also findeminent place in Ramayana. The king of Ishwakuvansh, belongs to `suryavansham`and hence, `surya` (the sun)himself appeared before Ramain the battle field and ensuredhis victory. Sugrieve has beensaid to be the son of sun, whileBali, the son of Indra. Hanumanis said to be the son of `vayu`.God `agni` appeared beforeRama and other deities during`agni pariksha` of Sita andcertified her purity. `Samudra`appeared before Rama as humanbeing and apologize for hiscompulsion but suggested waysto cross over. Sita is said to bethe daughter of the motherearth and lastly disappears inthe earth. Thus, all five basicelements are characters in theValmiki Ramayan – in visible orinvisible forms. In humanizingthe nature, the script writerhas the intention that hisreaders could understand theimportance of mutual symbolicrelationship between the humanbeings and the nature. For human being, the message ofRamayana is multi-dimensional.This tract, from any point ofview could give a lot to the worldbe it knowledge, experience, education and much more. Ithas vast stuff as compared towhat any living creature – malefemale,animal-birds and otherscreature could think about. §30 & YOGSANDESH & October 2013
