It could be found at theheight of 4500 feet. The fruits incultivated farms are bigger in sizeas compared to that found in theforests. The leaves of the `aola` treeresemble with that of tamarindtree though the former has abigger size. The leaves are called`Shat patra` and offered to LordShivaji. According to MaharshiCharak, it is the best in its category.Its consumption gives miraculousresults like lengthens the ageperiod, overcoming old age and oldperson becoming adolescents. Itsconsumption keeps oldness at bayand hence in `Ayurveda` it is said as`Amrit fal` or `dhatri fal`.Aola has two categories. The wildberry is small and hard while theproduced berry is large, soft withlot of pulp.External structure –The tree of Indian gooseberryis of medium height of around20-25 feet high. Its trunk issinuous in shape and widtharound 5-9 feet. Its bark isgreenish or brownish andthin. The stalk of the leaf,attaching the blade to thestem is long while leaves arerectangular in shape, likefeathers, arranged in shape,which is akin to the tamarindleaves. The fruit-scape is long,having small yellow colorclustered fruits. The fruitis circular of around 1 inchradius. The pulp is yellowish
