M phase is itself composed of two tightlycoupled processes: mitosis, in which the cell's chromosomes 62 are divided between the two daughter cells,and cytokinesis 63 , in which the cell's cytoplasm 64 divides in half forming distinct cells. Activation of eachphase is dependent on the proper completion of the previous one.
