The Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) program is a voluntary, industry-driven effortdeveloped to ensure that future generations will have the same abundant, healthy, and productiveresources we enjoy today. Created in 1995 by the American Forest and Paper Association (thenational trade organization representing the United States forest products industry), SFI is aprogram of comprehensive forestry and conservation practices. Through the SFI of PA program,landowners receive the information they need to enhance their ability to make good forestmanagement decisions, and loggers learn safer, more productive skills and proper environmentalpractices.
