Male versus Female Comparison1. Are you male or female?There were a total of 58 respondents to the survey. Ofthese 58 respondents 31 were female (53.4%) and 27were male (46.6%).2. How old are you?6. This question is about respect in relationshipsand how respected you feel by people in your life.On a scale of 1-5 with 1 being not very and 5 beingvery, how valued or respected do you feel by eachof the following?In regards to respect, both males and females answeredthat they feel most respected by their friends. Femaleswere 10% more likely to feel respected by their partnerthan males. Twice as many males did not feel respectedby Drs and Health Care Workers than girls with only 8%of males feeling strongly respecting by them. Femalesanswered they felt more respected by society in general,with 40% of males answering they did not feel respectedby society at all. No females answered that they feltrespected by the media, with 27.3% indicating they feltnot very respected by the media.7. Who would you turn to if you had a problem?There was a significant spread of ages across thegenders. The majority of females were aged 17 or older(87.1%) with the greatest concentration at age 19 (29%).The majority of the males were 16 or younger (70.3%)with the greatest concentration at age 15 (37%).3. What year are you in at school?Both males and females were more likely to turn to theirclosest friends if they had a problem before any otheroption, 84% and 81.8% respectively. Males were 20.9%more likely to turn to their parents than females.There was a significant gap between the schooling levelof males and females in the survey. 73.1% of males werein year 9 and 10 (high school level) whereas 85.2% offemales were in years 11 and 12 (college level). 42.3% ofmales were in year 9, compared to only 3.7% of females.Most of the females were in year 12 (66.7%).98
