2.4 Educational projectsThe Principal informs the audience of the new themes of the 3-year educational plan(“projet d’établissement”) for the period starting in September 2011 and ending in June2014:- French and foreign languages- Science- Humanist and art culture- Focus on children blossoming and success- New technologiesNew educational projects inclu<strong>de</strong>:- Development of common tools in kin<strong>de</strong>rgarten (music files, appraisal files…),- Bilingual French/English projects in kin<strong>de</strong>rgarten,- Launch of individual tutoring (“Ai<strong>de</strong> personnalisée”) in primary school,- Use of new IT tools (investment in interactive white boards in primary school),- Opening of secondary 1 classes with two foreign languages (Mandarin/English),- Opening of bilingual classes (secondary 4 or “troisième”) with the internationaloption of the “Brevet <strong>de</strong>s Collèges” (certification at the end of the “troisièmeclasses”),- Follow up of the change in the curriculum in secondary school (“ Réforme dulycée”- Change in appraisals in English in secondary school (appraisal per group of levelsas well as per scale applicable in France)- Opening of group by levels for English and Spanish classes in secondary school.3 – Report on the organisation of the French School and the Committees actionswithin the Management Committee.The Presi<strong>de</strong>nt, M. Laurent Mayer, gives a remin<strong>de</strong>r of the school’s organization.Lycée Français <strong>de</strong> <strong>Singapour</strong> Ltd is a Singaporean private company which signed aconvention with « AEFE », Agence pour l’Enseignement Français à l’Etranger. Thiscompany is registered as a charity and with the Singaporean Ministry of Education. TheFrench School is managed by an Executive Committee of 12 directors (6 corporaterepresentatives and 6 parents representatives) which are in charge of the operations ofthe French School and its budget. Two committees support the Executive Committee: theeducational committee which is in charge of all educational aspects and the managementcommittee which supports the actions of the management of the French School for theoperational aspects. The chairmen of the educational committee and managementcommittee are the Principal and the Supervisor, respectively. Two general meetings areconvened during the year to present activities of the school and financial information.During the general meeting in October/November, new directors are elected. Roles andresponsibilities within the Executive Committee are discussed, allocated and voted duringmeetings of the Executive Committee members.The Supervisor, M. Serge Genetet, summarises the missions of the differentcommissions within the Management Committee.
