Hair Loss Beaten!
I am not trying to teach you everything about the hair cycle process, or use complicated
medical terms and definitions because I don’t know most of them myself; and it’s not
necessary. But it is good to have a basic knowledge of the growth cycle to help explain why
you are losing hair.
The hair fall and re growth cycle is a finely balanced process consisting basically of growth,
rest and fall and if that cycle is disrupted it results in either;
 Hair falling (quite acceptable and natural) but not re growing (not acceptable or
normal)
 Or hair falling in excessive amounts and NOT re growing (definitely not acceptable or
normal)
Both of these result in thinning and balding and in most cases total baldness.
The 4 Phases of the Hair Growth Cycle: There are three major phases to the cycle, but four
in total. This is how it works;
The Anagen Phase: When the follicle is in its growing phase and blood is flowing to the
follicle.
The Catagen Phase: This is the phase when blood stops flowing to the follicle and the hair
ceases to grow, this is quite normal and nothing to worry about. Now is the period that hair
begins to disconnect from the follicle.
The Telogen Phase: Once the hair has been completely disconnected, the follicle begins its
resting period.
The Exogen Phase: Eventually the hair will naturally fall out in the fourth stage; again, this
is perfectly normal before the whole cycle starts all over again.
This cycle of growth and fall depends entirely on having a fresh and vibrant supply of oxygen
and nutrients being fed to the growing cells that create the visible hair. Blood is the ONLY
source of getting these essentials to the hair root and without a good supply of blood and
nutrition you’re going to have serious problems.
But once you understand how the never-ending hair growth cycle works, it explains where
the problem is (if there is a problem) and what needs to be looked at and fixed to allow the
cycle to function as it should do so we can get new hair growing again.
Bottom Line: If the cycle is not functioning properly, or the balance is not correct, then it has
to be put right to re grow hair; it’s as simple as that. Leave the situation as it is and things will
become progressively worse and the condition and appearance will deteriorate; and the longer
you leave it the harder it will be to put things right again.
