The Requirement<br />
Honda Logistics UK wanted to relocate to a new purposebuilt<br />
facility and needed to move swiftly to take advantage of<br />
a break in the lease on its existing headquarters building in<br />
Swindon and to be ready for the New Year sales rush.<br />
The Solution<br />
<strong>Prologis</strong> secured a site next to Honda’s manufacturing plant,<br />
five miles from Junction 15 of the M4. The team then worked<br />
closely with Honda to develop a new HQ and distribution<br />
centre for car parts, motorbikes and power equipment that<br />
was designed to enhance both the office and warehouse<br />
functions and to make Honda’s operations more efficient.<br />
Architects Michael Sparks Associates designed a 350,000 sq<br />
ft distribution centre with 21,000 sq ft of offices and following<br />
a 10 month build programme, Honda Logistics was able<br />
to move into its new headquarters in time to meet the<br />
January sales peak.<br />
