Scotland’s Commissioner for Children and Young People<strong>Evaluation</strong> <strong>of</strong> a <strong>RIGHT</strong> <strong>blether</strong>Focus Groups1.13 Six focus groups were conducted with children and young people in primaryand secondary schools and youth organisations, who were known to haveparticipated in several elements <strong>of</strong> the initiative, as identified by theCommissioner’s team. These incorporated:three groups with primary age children (two primary schools and aYMCA-YWCA) and three with secondary age young people (twoacademies and one with the Scottish Youth Parliament);the groups conducted with schools were face-to-face and the groupswith children and young people from the Youth Parliament and theYMCA-YWCA were conducted successfully online using specialistvirtual focus group technology.Overview <strong>of</strong> Report1.14 The remainder <strong>of</strong> the report draws from our primary and secondary researchand is structured as follows:Section 2: Effectiveness <strong>of</strong> a <strong>RIGHT</strong> <strong>blether</strong>:delivery;engagement <strong>of</strong> children and young people;success factors and challenges;Section 3: Outcomes and Impact;Section 4: Future Development and Recommendations.7
