Board of Directors and StaffExecutive staffMichael Gow – Artistic DirectorAs a director, Michael has worked with Sydney <strong>Theatre</strong><strong>Company</strong>, where he was Associate Director from 1991 to1993, Belvoir St <strong>Theatre</strong>, Black Swan <strong>Theatre</strong> <strong>Company</strong>,Griffin <strong>Theatre</strong> <strong>Company</strong>, State <strong>Theatre</strong> <strong>Company</strong> of SouthAustralia, Australian <strong>Theatre</strong> for Young People, Playbox,Opera Australia, Sydney Festival, Adelaide Festival and<strong>Queensland</strong> <strong>Theatre</strong> <strong>Company</strong>.Michael’s writing credits for stage, screen and radio areextensive. His plays include the multi-award winning playAway, hailed as a modern classic of the Australian theatreand now one of the most performed Australian works written.Other plays include The Kid; On Top of The World; Europe;1841; the award winning Furious; Sweet Phoebe; also anaward winner and Live Acts on Stage. A number of his workshave been produced and performed internationally includingmajor seasons in the UK and US. For television he has writtenthe mini-series Eden’s Lost, directed by Neil Armfield, andfor ABC Television Art’n’Life; for radio, Michael adapted hisplay Europe for broadcast in Australia and Europe, and wroteThe Astronaut’s Wife for ABC Radio. Artistic posts held byMichael include Chair of Griffin <strong>Theatre</strong> and Board member ofthe Australian <strong>Theatre</strong> for Young People. His play for youngpeople, 17, was commissioned by the Royal National <strong>Theatre</strong>of Great Britain.Libby Anstis – General ManagerLibby Anstis has had more than 13 years experience in theperforming arts industry in <strong>Queensland</strong> with a variety of keyroles in <strong>Queensland</strong> Symphony Orchestra, the ENERGEXBrisbane Festival and Centenary of Federation <strong>Queensland</strong>.She holds a Bachelor of Business – Communication fromQUT and began her career in marketing and developmentfor <strong>Queensland</strong> Symphony Orchestra. During this time shewas Chair of the joint arts marketing consortium, Ticketsave,comprising major performing arts companies in <strong>Queensland</strong>.In her seven years with the QSO, Libby spent the last twoas General Manager of the organisation, before taking upthe position of Producer – Music Program for the ENERGEXBrisbane Festival.Libby held two roles at Centenary of Federation <strong>Queensland</strong>,joining as Community Program Manager in 1999 andtaking over as Executive Director in 2000. During 2001, theCentenary of Federation program delivered more than 500community events throughout the state of <strong>Queensland</strong>. Shejoined the <strong>Company</strong> in August 2003 in the role of GeneralManager.Michael Kaempff – Production ManagerMichael joined <strong>Queensland</strong> <strong>Theatre</strong> <strong>Company</strong> in 1997 asProduction Manager. Michael has worked with companiesthroughout Australia as a Stage Manager, including BelvoirStreet <strong>Theatre</strong>, Australian Opera, Sydney <strong>Theatre</strong> <strong>Company</strong>,State Opera of South Australia and New Moon <strong>Theatre</strong><strong>Company</strong>. Michael also worked as a Stage Manager withthe English National Opera and other companies in theUnited Kingdom. Michael was the Production Manager forthe New Zealand tour of Cats, and the Australian and NewZealand tour of Jesus Christ Superstar. He has also workedas a Production Manager with Bell Shakespeare <strong>Company</strong>,the Festival of Sydney and for several national touringproductions. Before joining <strong>Queensland</strong> <strong>Theatre</strong> <strong>Company</strong>,Michael was Production Manager for Ric Birch, whosecompany Spectak produced the Olympic Games ceremonies.Bronwyn Klepp – Marketing ManagerBronwyn was promoted to the position of MarketingManager in October <strong>2004</strong>, after four years as <strong>Queensland</strong><strong>Theatre</strong> <strong>Company</strong>’s Publicity & Communications Coordinator.Prior to this time she held a number of marketing, sales andpromotions roles in the tourism industry. Bronwyn holdsa Bachelor of Arts from University of <strong>Queensland</strong> and aGraduate Certificate in Communication/Public Relations from<strong>Queensland</strong> University of Technology (QUT). She is currentlypursuing a Master of Business at QUT. Bronwyn is a memberof the Public Relations Institute of Australia.Kellie May – Operations ManagerKellie joined <strong>Queensland</strong> <strong>Theatre</strong> <strong>Company</strong> in 2002.Previously she held the position of Venue Sales Coordinatorat the Adelaide Festival Centre. During this time she wasresponsible for venue contracting arrangements workingclosely with the Australian Ballet <strong>Company</strong>, State Opera ofSouth Australia, State <strong>Theatre</strong> <strong>Company</strong> of South Australiaand national and international commercial producers. Kelliecompleted her Bachelor of Arts, Honours in Drama in 1997and graduated as a director majoring in theatre directionfrom Flinders University Drama Centre. As a component ofher graduating project she was assistant director for The RedSun performed in Japan and at the Adelaide Festival of Arts.In 1997, she was Assistant Director for <strong>Company</strong> B’sproduction of Black Mary and for the State <strong>Theatre</strong> <strong>Company</strong>of South Australia production of Tales from Arabian Nights.Her experience includes stage management for the AdelaideFestival Centre’s Compagnie Maguy Marin and VenueCoordinator for the Festival of Ideas in Adelaide as well as forThe Telstra Adelaide Festival of Arts 2000.A n n u a l R e p o r t15
