Donorsprovided $133.5 million to advance opportunities for studentsand faculty, the highest total in CU’s 131-year history. The CUFoundation brought in more than $106 million to furtherinitiatives at each of our campuses. In addition, the universitydirectly received gifts of $27 million.Donors leave a part of themselves with this institution.They support the university because they believe it can make adifference in peoples’ lives. Their giving reflects the confidencethey have in the CU enterprise. It is a reflection of our talentedand productive faculty. It is a reflection of our inspiringstudents. It is a reflection of the wonderful leadership we haveon the campuses. It is a reflection of the marvelous work theCU Foundation has accomplished. It is also a reflection ofthe positive response by the state of Colorado to our greatinstitution.You enable us to invest in quality programs and studentsat the university. The unprecedented support reflects the renewedconfidence alumni and friends have in CU’s stellar faculty,researchers, students, and educational experience. Donorsdirected their support to a wide variety of programs, projects,and areas.Purpose of 2007 Gifts12% Faculty andStaff SupportSeveral landmark transformational gifts shaped theseextraordinary results. In combination with thousands ofcritically important smaller gifts, private support is playing anincreasingly vital role at CU.A 13 percent surge in the number of donors, including a 19percent increase among alumni donors, contributed to the outstandingresults. With an 18 percent increase in annual funddonations, more discretionary funds will be available to supporthigh-priority needs at the campus level. The resounding vote ofconfidence enabled the Foundation to transfer over $50 millionto fund priorities set by university leadership and donordirectives.Donors direct their support to a wide variety of programs, projects,and areas.
