The unprecedented support reflects <strong>the</strong> renewedconfidence alumni and friends have in CU’s stellar faculty,researchers, students, and educational experience. Donorsdirected <strong>the</strong>ir support to a wide variety <strong>of</strong> programs, projects,and areas.Purpose <strong>of</strong> 2007 Gifts12% Faculty andStaff SupportSeveral landmark transformational gifts shaped <strong>the</strong>seextraordinary results. In combination with thousands <strong>of</strong>critically important smaller gifts, private support is playing anincreasingly vital role at CU.A 13 percent surge in <strong>the</strong> number <strong>of</strong> donors, including a 19percent increase among alumni donors, contributed to <strong>the</strong> outstandingresults. With an 18 percent increase in annual funddonations, more discretionary funds will be available to supporthigh-priority needs at <strong>the</strong> campus level. The resounding vote <strong>of</strong>confidence enabled <strong>the</strong> Foundation to transfer over $50 millionto fund priorities set by university leadership and donordirectives.Donors direct <strong>the</strong>ir support to a wide variety <strong>of</strong> programs, projects,and areas.
