Specac Product Catalogue 2011 | Variable Temperature Cell HolderVariable Temperature Cell HolderFor the analysis of liquids or solids between -190ºC and 250ºCP/N GS21525Key FeaturesP/N GS21530• Programmable controlled temperaturesfrom -190ºC to 250ºC (Stability ±0.1ºC)• Dewar cooling system• Heated Jacket windows to preventcondensation• Flow mode option kit for liquids• Solid sample gas exchange capability• Benchmark Baseplate or 3” x 2”mounting optionsVariable Temperature Cell HolderThe Variable Temperature Cell Holder P/NGS21525 is the ideal accessory to use for thetransmission study of liquid or solid samples atvarious temperatures ranging from -190ºC to250ºC.The Variable Temperature Cell Holder consists ofa vacuum jacket with two window ports and a setof windows (NaCl as standard) which contains arefrigerant dewar/cell holder assembly. Liquid orsolid sample holders are inserted into the heatingblock part of the dewar/cell holder and theassembled cell is operated within a vacuumenvironment maintained by the outer jacket.Using a combination of refrigerant and controlfrom the cell block heaters any temperature from-190ºC to 250ºC can be achieved. Choice ofwindow materials for both the jacket and samplecell holders allows for use of this accessory in theUV, visible and IR regions. The Variable Temperature Cell Holder is suppliedwith a high stability controller with a factory fittedoption for control via RS232, RS485 or USBconnectivity if ordered. For certain applications such as Raman,Fluorescence and UV spectral measurementsSpecac offer a four window port version on thevacuum jacket as the Variable TemperatureCuvette Holder (GS21530), special quartz glasscuvettes are used to contain a liquidsample. The four window ports allow forcollection of the scattered radiation from acuvette cell at a 90 deg incident angle as well asat a 180 deg (standard tranmission) as measuredfrom the Variable Temperature Cell Holder(GS21525)Applications• Analysis under extreme temperatureconditions• Absorption band study at lowtemperatures• Polymerization studies• Phase transition studies• Reaction kinetics• Polymorphism• Catalysis• Oxidation studieswww.specac.com23
