Specac Product Catalogue 2011 | Specadie Specadie Produces KBr pellets without using a pressSpecadie The Specadie accessory allows for theproduction of a solid KBr pellet for analysis byInfra Red spectroscopy without the need of aseparate press and die.The Specadie consists of a die body and twobolts that each have a highly polished pressingface. In operation a ground KBr powder is placedin the die body and compressed between thetwo bolts that are tightened together. A KBrpellet of 8.5mm diameter is formed. The bolts arethen removed and the compressed KBr powderis retained inside the die body.
