The Government Jinnah Islamia College, Sialkot isaffiliated with the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education,Gujranwala for the intermediate classes. The courses of studiestaught are in accordance with those rules, which are notified by theBoard from time to time. The prescribed books of these courses arepublished by the Punjab Text Book Board, Lahore. The examinationsare held according to the schedule given by the Gujranwala Board. Atpresent, the Intermediate students have to take the BoardExaminations on yearly basis. The rules and regulations governingthese examinations are notified by the Gujranwala Board from timeto time. The Students can visit the BISE website for the rules andregulations, notified by the Gujranwala Board.For B.A/B.Sc Classes, Government Jinnah Islamia College,Sialkot is affiliated with the Punjab University. The subjects offeredand allowed by the University are given in this Prospectus. Thecourses of studies taught are notified in the Punjab Universitycalendar, which is available from the Punjab University Book Shop,Anar Kali, Lahore. The schedule of Examinations for these Degreeclasses is notified by the Punjab University.The academic calendar based on lesson plan, issued by theHigher Education Department, Govt. of the Punjab (DPI Colleges) isfollowed strictly by all the teachers. Regular monthly tests are held inthe College according to the given lesson plan, which are aimed atregularizing the academic activities. At the end of each academicsession, the send-up examinations are held. Various prizes are
awarded to the brilliant students, in each discipline, on thevaledictory Day.THE CURRICULUM17INTERMEDIATE CLASSESHigher Secondary Level Education is of two year duration. Theexaminations are held by the Board, separately for First year andSecond year classes. The result is compiled on the basis of Part-I andPart-II examinations. The students, failing in Part I examinationcannot repeat it; but have to re-appear along with their Part IIexamination. The total marks are 1100.Compulsory Subjects.
