College of Arts and SciencesNUCLEUS PROGRAMwww.cas.udel.edu/nucleusFRESHMAN STUDENT CONTRACT & CODE OF RESPONSIBILTYI understand that as a member of the NUCLEUS Program I must meet the following program requirements during myfreshman year:1. Be enrolled in a major in the College of Arts and Sciences or, health science, or a related applied health science oragricultural science major. (___)2. Achieve an academic status of “good standing” by successfully completing a minimum of 24 credit hours during theacademic year and by achieving a minimum B overall grade point average. (___)*3. Immediately take advantage of academic support services sponsored/co-sponsored by NUCLEUS, such as: tutoring,group study, peer mentoring and academic workshops and seminars upon discovery of academic challenges. (___)4. Check your email daily for correspondence from the NUCLEUS program staff. (___)5. Attend and participate in a minimum of three NUCLEUS sponsored/co-sponsored academic/pre-professionalevents each academic semester. (See list of Participation Opportunities on NUCLEUS website) (___)6. Meet a minimum of twice per academic year with NUCLEUS staff for academic monitoring; update academicplan and career development. (___)7. Participate in a minimum of two Career Services sponsored-events per academic year for career development.(___)8. Meet with your faculty advisor once each semester to discuss department/major guidelines. These meetings shouldserve to keep your advisor informed of your progress, along with getting input and advice from him/her regardingdepartmental requirements or career related activities. (___)9. Meet a minimum of three times with each of your course instructors during office hours or by scheduledappointments. These meetings will serve to assist you in your course work along with help you establish a rapportwith faculty members, discuss topics of interest and develop mentoring relationships. (___)10. Participate in at least one outreach program activity. Participation may include tutoring, mentoring withinNUCLEUS, serving on a college or student panel, Discovery Days, Blue and Gold Days or participating in otherNUCLEUS or University outreach programs. (___)11. Identify a student affiliate national organization related to your major, career, or professional interest. (___)12. Refrain from participating in any fraternity or sorority pledging process during the freshmen year. (___)13. For the continual improvement of the NUCLEUS program, participate in and/or complete all evaluationactivities that are sponsored or co-sponsored by NUCLEUS, such as providing feedback on surveys, focusgroups or interview sessions when applicable.
