Maintain your balance at alltimes during operation.Always wear eye protection such asgoggles or safety glasses to shieldagainst thrown objects.Always wear a harness when operating the unit.It adds comfort and helps ensure safety by limitingmovement fore and aft. When the harness isadjusted properly, the unit should balance with thecutting attachment parallel to the ground.Always operate with both handsfirmly gripping the unit.When operating with a blade, make surethe handle is positioned to provide you withmaximum protection from contacting theblade. Always make sure the handlebaris installed in accordance with themanufacturers instructions.Always make sure theappropriate cutting attachmentshield is correctly installed andin good condition. Do notoperate the unit if thecutting attachment shieldis missing, loose, orbroken.Wear appropriate footwear (non-skidboots or shoes): do not wear opentoedshoes or sandals. Never workbarefooted!Keep away from the rotatingtrimmer line at all times, andnever lift a moving attachmentabove waist-high.4
Be Aware of the Working EnvironmentAvoid long-termoperation in very hotor very cold weather.Be extremely carefulof slippery terrain,especially during rainyweather.Make surebystandersor observersoutside the15 meter (50feet) “dangerzone” wear eyeprotection.15 METERS(50 FEET)Always make surethe appropriatecutting attachmentshield is correctlyinstalled.Reduce the risk of bystanders beingstruck by flying debris. Make sure noone is within 15 meters (50 feet)—that’s about 16 paces of an operatingattachment. Stop immediately if a child,pet, or person comes within a 15 meter(50 feet)radius. Outside this radius,there is still a risk of injury from thrownobjects.Do not operate the unit if the cuttingattachment shield is missing, loose,or broken.Beware of a coasting blade whenbrushcutting or edging.
