Every scientific discipline has a methodology. Facts weighs paramount in<br />
scientific methodology. When speculations become hypothesis imagination<br />
does have a prominent role to play along with observations. But when a<br />
hypothesis has to become a theory then it has to be tested empirically in the crucible<br />
of facts. Every successful revolution in science, whether it is Darwinian or<br />
Einsteinian, has passed this ordeal of fire. Hypotheses are also susceptible to change<br />
as facts pour in. It is not uncommon in the field of science to throw away cherished<br />
notions when facts falsify those notions. For example, with inputs from genetics<br />
and molecular biology, Darwinian ideas of evolution changed. The long held notion<br />
of the transmission of acquired characters was abandoned when August Weismann<br />
