Dr. Tolzmann edits NewGerman-American Studies, a mono-graphic series; has served as New YorkerStaats-Zeitung's Ohio editor; is the Zeitschrift für deutsch-amerikanischeLiteratur editor, and is on the editorial board of the Yearbook for German-American Studies. He has frequently been called upon to represent German-American interests to the administrations in Washington, DC. He is the recipientof the Friendship Award of the Federal Republic of Germany and thatcountry's Federal Cross of Merit (Bundesverdienstkreuz). He has served formany years as President of the Society for German-American Studies.
