Severallighting variants were installed atMarjoland rose nursery in Waddinxveen.During the tests the LED modules werecombined with HID lamps. The moduleswere positioned in the crop so as toalso light the plant base, where thedevelopment of new shoots isstimulated, and where the leaves thatnormally receive little light can now alsoactively take part in photosynthesis.One of the most important advantagesof LED interlighting for roses is thatfaster shoot development can beachieved by using the spectrum andpositioning intelligently. What was alsofound is that not only was more lightintroduced, but the plants handled thelight, more efficiently.
