The <strong>business</strong> was originallybased in Loosduinen, in the Zuid-Holland province, but in 2002 it moved<strong>to</strong> Someren in the Noord-Brabantprovince. In 2008 Wim acquired another<strong>business</strong> close by and now has an areacovering some 16 hectares. Family-run<strong>business</strong>es often have strong traditions,but Wim manages <strong>to</strong> combine a respectfor experience gained in the past with akeen eye for present-day possibilitiesand opportunities. Working in closeconsultation with the specialists fromPhilips, Wim Peters opted for acombination of HPS lighting with PhilipsGreenPower 600 W lamps and PhilipsGreenPower LED interlighting. The HPSlighting provides heat and light and theLED modules provide exactly theright amount of interlighting for the<strong>to</strong>ma<strong>to</strong>es in the most efficient way. Thesolution delivers a good 10% moreavailable grow light <strong>to</strong> the plant and thisgrow light is distributed over the entirelength of the plant. As a result, theleaves in the center and at the bot<strong>to</strong>m ofthe plant also contribute substantially <strong>to</strong>growth and production. In addition, thehybrid lighting solution produces some12 watts per m 2 . This means that WimPeters does not need <strong>to</strong> use a growthtube. The grow light at the <strong>to</strong>p can beswitched separately from the LEDs inbetween the plants.
