A-Plant wins
prestigious contracts
from Environment
Agency
The Environment Agency is an
Executive Non Departmental
Public Body responsible to the
Secretary of State for Environment,
Food and Rural Affairs and an
Assembly Sponsored Public
Body responsible to the National
Assembly for Wales. Its principal
aims are to protect and improve
the environment, and to promote
sustainable development. The
Agency plays a central role in
delivering the environmental
priorities of Central Government
and the Welsh Assembly
Government through its functions
and roles.
A-Plant has been awarded
two prestigious four-year
framework agreements with
the Environment Agency,
covering both the hire of
tools and equipment and the
maintenance and servicing
of the Agency’s existing fleet
of equipment. A-Plant is one
of the three suppliers on the
hire framework and has been
awarded a single supplier
framework agreement for the
management, maintenance
and servicing of the entire
fleet of powered hand tools
and powered work equipment
at the Environment Agency.
Erik Broderstad, Key Accounts
Sales Director for A-Plant, said,
“The new contracts with the
Environment Agency are highstatus
appointments, which
will utilise our wide range of
expertise in the tool and plant
hire market in the UK. Under
the new maintenance and
servicing framework, we have
sole responsibility for assessing
and advising on the inventories
of equipment held at over 160
locations in the eight regions of the
Environment Agency around the
country.”
To establish the procedures to be
used in this important contract,
A-Plant is carrying out three pilot
projects in the Thames West, North
West North and Midlands East
areas, based in three of the eight
regions. A-Plant will examine every
piece of equipment and submit a
report to the Environment Agency
on the inventory held at each
location in these areas, the age
and condition of the equipment
and proposals on whether the
equipment should be repaired or
replaced. This process will then
be rolled out to all eight regions to
produce a national report for the
Environment Agency.
This is the latest in a raft of
key account wins by A-Plant
which recognise the company’s
commitment to enhancing
service and efficiencies, reducing
costs and administration and
eliminating wastage and non-value
added transaction processes
as measured against Key
Performance Indicators (KPIs)
