Mission Statement<br />
Methodist Children’s Home offers hope to children, youth and families<br />
through a nurturing, Christian community.<br />

Program Accomplishments<br />
Methodist Children’s Home served nearly 1,600 children<br />
through its various programs during the year. The Home served<br />
more than 800 children daily.<br />
MCH reached its goal for the first of three annual matching<br />
gift campaigns to provide resources for expansion<br />
opportunities.<br />
College in Waco, along with the following four-year universities:<br />
Midwestern State, Texas A&M, Texas A&M-Kingsville, Texas State,<br />
Houston, North Texas, Texas and UT-Arlington. The Home also had<br />
a graduate attending the University of Texas Southwestern Medical<br />
Center.<br />
The University of Texas Charter School - MCH Campus received the<br />
“academically acceptable” rating from the Texas Education Agency<br />
for the fourth consecutive year.<br />
The charter school received official recognition for its student<br />
council by the Texas Association of Student Councils.<br />
MCH opened the Sammy Baugh Cottage, a foster group home in<br />
Jayton, Texas.<br />
MCH youth on the Waco campus contributed a combined<br />
total of 10,137 hours of volunteer service to more than 15<br />
agencies, organizations, schools or ministries. This total does<br />
not include the service provided by the 50 youth at the Boys<br />
Ranch.<br />
MCH youth served others in need during missions trips<br />
sponsored by the Central Texas and Texas Annual Conferences<br />
of the United Methodist Church.<br />
Thirty-five former residents pursued advanced education<br />
through a variety of degree programs. Students attended<br />
McLennan Community College and Texas State Technical<br />
The Home finalized plans to begin an after-school education and<br />
recreation program in Crockett, Texas in the winter of 2008.<br />
MCH completed major renovation of the Administration Building,<br />
which was built in 1955.<br />
