However, with this issue of “InnerView,” we will focus on the Volunteer Office and the individuals who make this group so very special. Everyone knows Aimee Yahn-Carmichael, director of the Debbie- Rand Memorial Service League volunteers. She sees to every detail that involves over 700 volunteers and ensures that the office staff runs smoothly. What a superb job she does. Dotti Dufresne, who has a perpetual smile, became the first employee in the office in 2001. Dotti assists Aimee, Debbie Leising and the volunteer secretaries with the responsibilities that come along with this job. In addition, there is the board of directors with Debbie Leising serving as president. They set policy, coordinate all the fundraising activities and supervise all the special events and projects, which includes the Annual Volunteer Luncheon. Behind the scenes are numerous projects in various stages of development, such as the recruiting and training of all new volunteers. The office staff makes sure that all departments are properly staffed and when a volunteer calls in sick they see to it that a replacement is found. Coordination of all activities is what makes the volunteer effort at Boca Raton Regional Hospital the very best. The board makes certain that compliance with OSHA and HIPAA laws are strictly observed. That includes federal, state and local laws dealing with healthcare requirements. Leadership within the office makes sure that all the volunteers who are assisting alongside our great professional staff are committed to a team effort that brings about excellent results for all patients and visitors at our Hospital. The following is a listing of the volunteers who staff the office throughout the week. Mary Mildner chairs in the training of the office staff. D-RMSL Auxiliary Office Wold Family’s Generous Gift EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT 1 3 5 2 4 6 Boca Raton Regional Hospital Foundation has received a $5 million donation from Elaine J. Wold and the entire Keith C. Wold, MD family to name the Wold Family Center for Emergency Medicine at Boca Raton Regional Hospital. In announcing the gift, Mrs. Wold said, “My family and I realize that all too often the medical journey begins with an emergency. It is critical that patients and their families receive the most efficient, comfortable, and compassionate medical care during these difficult situations.” Elaine J. Wold, along with her late husband Keith, has been a leading supporter of Boca Raton Regional Hospital for more than two decades. Over the years, their philanthropy has supported many Hospital initiatives, including breast cancer awareness and cardiac services. “The Wold Family gift will be utilized to transform our existing Emergency Department into the Center for Emergency Medicine. The state-of-the-art facility will expedite emergency patient care in a comfortable setting with an emphasis on clinical excellence, efficiency and privacy,” said Jan Savarick, president of the Boca Raton Regional Hospital Foundation. 1.
