Christine Catalanotto enters her third season as an assistant women’s<br />
basketball <strong>coach</strong> at Manhattan College. Catalanotto came to Riverdale<br />
after serving as a graduate assistant <strong>coach</strong> at Wagner College. With the<br />
Lady Jaspers, she is responsible for monitoring the team’s academics, tape<br />
exchange, and community service initiatives, including the annual basketball<br />
camp. She also assists with recruiting and scouting.<br />
While a graduate assistant at Wagner from 2006-08, Catalanotto’s duties<br />
included coordinating film exchange, monitoring student-athlete academic<br />
progress and scouting opponents. She was responsible for the development<br />
of the Seahawks’ guards, while also implementing strategic offensive<br />
concepts.<br />
A native of Flushing, N.Y., she began her collegiate playing career at<br />
the University of Maryland-Baltimore County before transferring to Rider<br />
University for her final two seasons. A two-time team captain for the Broncs,<br />
she started at point guard in 56 of 57 appearances over her two seasons at<br />
Rider. She led the team with 3.3 assists per game and averaged 6.2 points<br />
and 3.7 rebounds over her career. Prior to Rider, Catalanotto was a key<br />
member of the 2002-03 UMBC team that advanced to the Northeast Conference<br />
title game.<br />
Catalanotto played her prep basketball at local powerhouse Christ the<br />
King, helping the squad to a pair of city championships for <strong>head</strong> <strong>coach</strong> Bob<br />
Mackey. Along the way, she collected numerous accolades, including New<br />
York Daily News and Newsday All-City honors, New York State Federation<br />
Class A All-Star and the Father John Savage Scholar Athlete Award.<br />
Catalanotto earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Rider in<br />
2005, graduating Magna Cum Laude. She also holds a master’s degree in<br />
business administration from Wagner.<br />

Former Lady Jaspers star Caitlin Flood returns to the program as an<br />
assistant <strong>coach</strong> for the 2010-11 season. Flood, who ranks fifth on the Lady<br />
Jaspers’ all-time scoring list, had been playing professionally in England for<br />
the past two years.<br />
A four-year starter, Flood tallied 1,399 points and 600 rebounds during<br />
her Manhattan career, placing her in the Top 10 in each category. She<br />
ranks fifth all-time in scoring and 10th in rebounding. After earning a Third<br />
Team All-MAAC selection following the 2006-07 season, Flood was named<br />
First Team All-MAAC as a senior in 2007-08.<br />
Before returning to Riverdale, the 2008 Manhattan graduate spent two<br />
seasons playing in the English Basketball League (EBL). In 2009-10, she<br />
helped the Nottingham Wildcats finish third in the EBL, leading the team in<br />
rebounding (8.2 rpg) and placing second in scoring (18.0 ppg). Flood began<br />
her professional career with the Manchester Mystics in 2008-09, and she<br />
was named Second Team All-EBL that season.
