MEDIA INFORMATION The Manhattan College women’s basketball media guide is intended to enhance your coverage during the 2010-2011 season. This guide will answer most questions concerning the Lady Jaspers basketball program. A comprehensive history section, along with current information is available in this publication. If you need additional information contact Assistant Sports Information Director Joe Clifford at 718-862- 7709 or by email at joseph.clifford@manhattan.edu. WORKING CREDENTIALS Requests for working credentials should be made no later than two days prior to the game. The assistant athletic director for communications & marketing reserves the right to deny requests made past that time. Passes may be mailed if the request is received early enough. Press row is located on the sideline opposite the team benches. Working media are asked not to sit at the scorer’s table unless designated to do so by the assistant athletic director for communications & marketing. Photographers are asked to remain along the baseline and must display their credentials. Photographers not displaying credentials will be asked to leave the court area. Preference will be given to working press and photographers covering the game. Media representatives are asked to display their credentials at all times. INTERVIEW POLICY All discussion with Coach Olenowski and student-athletes should be channeled through the athletic communications office at (718) 862-7709. Rohrssen and players will be available weekly on Monday upon request 48 hours in advance. Media interviews will be held in the Manhattan College Athletic Communication Office Room 508 in Draddy Gymnasium. Players and coaches will also be available upon request before and after scheduled practice times. Interviews will not be given the day of the game until after the game. Interviews with student-athletes will not be scheduled during study hall or class time. PRACTICE POLICY Practice is closed to the media. Players and coaches will be available upon request 30 minutes prior to the scheduled practice time and 30 minutes at the conclusion of practice, barring conflicts with the student-athlete’s class and study hall schedule. Video and still photography is prohibited during practice. RADIO LINES Phone lines for radio broadcasts are available upon advanced request. Please contact the athletic communication office at(718) 862-7709 at least 48 hours prior to the game to request phone lines, a working credential and seat at press row. ATHLETIC COMMUNICATIONS STAFF Please direct all requests for credentials to Joseph Clifford, Manhattan College Athletic Department, Riverdale, N.Y. 10471. Phone: (718) 862-7709. Media covering the visiting team should pass credential requests along to the visiting institution’s director of sports information who will then forward all credential requests to the Manhattan College Athletic Communication Office. GAME SERVICES Game notes, statistics and a game program will be provided to the working media prior to each contest. Box scores and a detailed play-by-play will be available at halftime and 15 minutes after the game. TELEPHONES, INTERNET AND FAX MACHINE The media work room will be equipped with outside telephone lines, wireless internet and electrical outlets. One fax machine will also be available for use after the game. Please forward all post game technical requests to the assistant athletic director for communications & marketing prior to the game. FOLLOWING THE JASPERS LADY JASPERS ON THE INTERNET GoJaspers.com – The Official Athletic Site of Manhattan College Through its partnership with JumpTV Inc., Manhattan College continues to rank among the leaders in innovative internet technology. A comprehensive package of streaming video and audio broadcasts will be available to Manhattan College Athletics followers. Information on all 19 Division I athletic teams, including results, schedules, news and statistics can be found on the department’s newly redesigned website— GoJaspers.com. Audio: For the 13th year, Lady Jaspers basketball will be broadcast live over the internet. In partnership with Stretch Internet (www. stretchinternet.com), followers of Lady Jaspers basketball can access the live play-by-play broadcasts of all 2008-09 home games, as well as select road games and the MAAC Tournament. A link to the broadcast will be available at GoJaspers.com. Manhattan College Hall of Famer Brian Mahoney returns as the color analyst, alongside play-by-play broadcaster Dylan Scott. Each broadcast begins with the John Olenowski Pregame Report 15 minutes prior to tip-off. Facebook/Twitter: Fans of the Manhattan College women’s basketball program are able to follow the Lady Jaspers on Facebook and Twitter. Fans have the ability to purchase each game individually or can buy a season package, which also includes every non-televised home men’s game. LADY JASPERS ON TELEVISION At least one women’s basketball game will be televised during the 2010-11 campaign. Manhattan’s Jan. 28 game at Canisius will be televised on ESPNU. The semifinals of the MAAC Women’s Basketball Championships will be televised on MAAC-TV, while the MAAC Championship Game will be televised nationally on ESPNU on Monday afternoon, March 7.
