MVNO (50-50 joint venture with One2One).
9 Nov 2000 – Virgin Mobile UK hits half a million
customers.

customers
2001 28 June 2005 – Virgin Mobile UK announces
creation of 100 jobs, taking total to almost
1,400.
2 Oct 2002 – Virgin Mobile UK reaches two million
customers.
2002 April 2002 – One2One is branded T-Mobile,
following Deutsche Telekom takeover.
9 May 2002 - Virgin Mobile in profit - EBTIDA
profit of £3.4 million - £3.9m ahead of plan.
15 Aug 2003 – Virgin Mobile UK announces three
million customers.
2003 31 Dec 2003 – 86.8% return on capital
employed announced.
3 Oct 2003 – Virgin Mobile UK won awards for
Best Pre-Pay Package, and Best Customer
Service, both for the third year running (Mobile
Choice Consumer Awards)
29 Apr 2004 - Virgin Mobile announces 4 million
customers
2004 29 Jan 2004 - T-Mobile and Virgin Mobile
secure an enhanced telecom supply agreement
to run for a minimum of 10 years and Virgin
Group acquires T-Mobile’s stake in Virgin
Mobile.
26 Jul 2004 - Virgin Mobile is listed on the
Stock Exchange and becomes Virgin Mobile
Holdings (UK); Virgin Mobile Telecoms is the
principal operating company.
30 Sep 2005 - Virgin Mobile win award for Best
Customer Service at the Mobile Choice Consumer
Awards 2005, fifth year in a row.
2005 5 Dec 2005 – Virgin Mobile receive an approach
from NTL Incorporated with a potential offer to
combine NTL and Virgin Mobile.
2006 4 Apr 2006 – Virgin Mobile reach agreement
with NTL regarding the takeover bid. The deal
values Virgin Mobile at £962.4m and includes a
30 year license of Virgin brand.
