MVNO Directory (www.mvnodirectory.com)
Due to Launch – No Profile Information
During our research we have found significant information to suggest that the operations below are more
than just speculation. Although we have been unable to profile these potential MVNOs we decided that
their inclusion, albeit in a brief form, still adds value to this directory.
Baron
Cited as being a luxury MVNO for the Dutch market. The only official information so far is as follows:
Baron, Wamberg 35-37, 1083 CW, Amsterdam | http://www.baron.nl | info@baron.nl
BT Espana
Reported to have an MVNO license but Spain’s MNOs are still hostile and refusing to allow a market
entry.
China-Hongkong Telecom Ltd
Awarded an MVNO license on 29 th April 2004 but there is no evidence of an MVNO operation. The only
official information we have so far is an address: Rm 3813-15, Hong Kong Plaza, 188 Connaught Road
West, Hong Kong.
IMC Networks Limited
Awarded an MVNO license on 26th April 2005 but we have been unable to find an active mobile
operation. Their address is Room 2601A, Yen Sheng Centre, 64 Hoi Yuen Road, Kwun Tong, Kowloon,
Hong Kong.
Jazztel
Has applied for an MVNO license in Spain but with other MVNO operations unable to penetrate the
Spanish MNOs it could be some time before an active operation.
Tele2 Spain
Tele2 were recently quoted as saying that they would launch by the end of 2006. Tele2 has operations
cross Europe and further country additions to its service would bring it closer to being a pan-European
MVNO.
Telecable
Telecable is a media company in Spain providing cable TV, fixed telecommunications and Internet
services. It has acquired an MVNO license from the Spanish regulator but as battles to force MNOs to
work with MVNOs have gone on since 2002, it is unlikely that a launch is near. Telecable benefits from
targeting the quadruple play market, which would add weight to any MVNO proposition.
