2-wire Switches
Technical Data
Douglas 2-wire switches are a distinctive and attractive group of
products designed to satisfy practically any requirement. Switches
can be grouped to form compact, unobtrusive switch stations.
Up to 3 switches can be fit into a single gang box. If more
switches are required, use multi-gang boxes. A complete range of
stock cover plates and mounting hardware is available for all sizes
up to 5 gangs.
Connect Douglas 2-wire switches directly to any model of Douglas
relay or connect to switch inputs on Douglas control devices (relay
scanners, photocell override, etc.).

The WR-8001 can control up to 8 relays

The WR-8501 & 03 switches control up
to 4 relays. (Sw rating: 1.5A). Check

LED's show status of the connected
relay or input. Red LED indicates ON
and green locator LED indicates OFF.
The LED's consume 4mA of power. If a
large amount of switches (>100) are
connected to the same transformer,
check transformer loading.
Use WN-3700 mounting strap to install
up to 3 WR-8501 switches into a 1
gang wall box.
A mounting strap is built into the WR-
8503 and a WN-3700 is not required.
All 3 switches
of the WR-
8503 obtain
the input
power from a
common

Technical Data
Connect 2-wire specialty switches directly to any model of Douglas 2-wire relay or connect to
switch inputs on Douglas control devices (relay scanners, photocell override, etc.).
If your application requires a specialized switch that is not shown, please contact Douglas and
describe your requirement.

switch inputs. Turn key to one side for
ON and to other side for OFF.
The WRK-8201 can control up to 4
relays (Sw rating: 1.5A). Check wire
length chart for wire runs greater than

The key switch has an LED indicator to
show the status of the connected relay
or input. Red LED indicates ON and
green locator LED indicates OFF.
Use WN-3700 mounting strap to install
up to 3 key sws into a 1 gang wall box.

The WR-8301 can control up to 4

The WR-8301 weighs 3 lbs and can be
bolted to the floor if desired. Common
application is for X-ray rooms. Wall
switches can be connected in parallel.

2-WIRE SWITCHING TECHNOLOGY
Douglas 2-wire switches are momentary switches that use internal
diodes to provide an ON or OFF pulse. To the white terminal of a
2-wire switch connect the 24VAC source. Connect the red
terminal of a 2-wire switch to the relay.
All of the switches can be serviced by the same 24VAC source
(white). Therefore, a 6 switch station will require 7 wires; 1
common and 6 red signal wires.
Switches that have LED indicators do not require any additional
wiring. The red signal wire is also used to indicate the state of the
relay or control device to the switch.
