Report <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Pilot Research Project on Children Working in Cultural and Artistic Activities<br />

It is provided that <strong>the</strong>re is no requirement to solicit <strong>of</strong>fi cial permission given that <strong>the</strong> child is over<br />

age 13, <strong>the</strong> work is light and requires no longer than 2 hours <strong>of</strong> engagement a day and that <strong>the</strong><br />

parents r legal guardian <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> child approves such engagement.<br />

It is provided that children from age 3 to 6 can be engaged in visual and/or audio recordings for<br />

maximum 2 hours a day between 08:00 and 17:00. This period includes rehearsals for acting and<br />

music. If <strong>the</strong> child concerned is over age 6, engagements <strong>of</strong> this type can be up to 3 hours a day<br />

and between 08:00 and 22:00.<br />

There is ban on night work; “night” being defi ned as from 22:00 to 06:00.<br />

It is provided that after having worked, <strong>the</strong> child should be let free to do anything he likes for 14<br />

hours.<br />

Children under age 2 cannot be used in such activities whatsoever.<br />

It is provided that a child can work only for a specifi ed time period in a year. In 12 months,<br />

children under age 14 can wok no longer than 40 days and o<strong>the</strong>rs over age 14 no longer than 80<br />

days.<br />

It is provided that this type <strong>of</strong> work is to be observed and supervised by labour inspectors.<br />

It is provided that <strong>the</strong> child conducts his work under <strong>the</strong> supervision <strong>of</strong> a responsive and protective<br />

adult.
