Class of 2013 Lands $16.6 Million in Scholarships
Since 1921 Cathedral Prep has been doing what we do
best–developing men of vision, in spirit mind, and body
by providing students with a solid foundation to build their
future on. One hundred forty-three eager graduates lined
up in white tuxedos on the steps of the Warner Theatre on
Sunday, June 2, to embark the beginning of a new journey. It
was the day that they have been dreaming about since they
stepped foot into Cathedral Prep as a freshmen. President
Father Scott Jabo, Fr. Nicholas Rouch ‘79 and Principal Trevor
Murnock ‘98 presented seniors with their diplomas and
medals.
Congratulations to the entire class who received $16.6
million in scholarships (that’s over $116,000 per student),
and 100% were accepted to a four-year a college.
In accordance with a Cathedral Preparatory School tradition,
Gold Honor Medallions are awarded to the members of
the graduating class who have distinguished themselves in
specific fields of scholastic and co-curricular endeavors.

National Merit Scholarship Program
The most extensive scholarship program in the United
States, the National Merit Scholarship Program, announced
the names of the finalists from the 2012-2013 school year in
March. Congratulations to Michal Prenovitz, who achieved
finalist status.
Two members of this year’s graduating class achieved
the status of National Merit Commended Student. This
represents the top five percent of the more than one million
who took the qualifying test. Congratulations to Conor
Colpoys and Nathan Estes.
Mia Angela Memorial Scholarship
The Mia Angela Memorial Scholarship is given by the
Eugene Tomczak family to an outstanding senior who is
planning a career related to medicine. This year’s scholarship
was awarded to Brandon Feikles.
