The Dome<br />
The Dome is a 12.5m, 360˚cinema auditorium.<br />
we are introducing this new and exciting<br />
temporary structure this year for our Blowing<br />
the Boundaries programme. Using cutting edge<br />
interactive communications technology it is<br />
a highly innovative way of presenting newly<br />
commissioned work, performance pieces and<br />
live international link-ups.<br />
Across the four days of the <strong>Festival</strong> you can<br />
experience demonstrations beamed live from<br />
around the world, 50/400 archives, events<br />
including Torcher Tailor and the spectacular<br />
<strong>Glass</strong>hionistas Finale and connect virtually<br />
with other <strong>Festival</strong> Venues. Come and immerse<br />
yourself in a unique 360˚ experience.<br />

Events<br />
Torcher Tailor<br />
Torcher Chamber Arkestra is a<br />
flameworking performance company<br />
comprised of artists from sculptural,<br />
neon, scientific, and flamework glass<br />
backgrounds. Torcher combines<br />
fire, glass, music and explosives to<br />
educate, engage and entertain.<br />
Founded at the <strong>Festival</strong> in 2010,<br />
Torcher will give their second<br />
performance in 2012. They will be<br />
making a glass wedding dress<br />
exploring the theme of Union live on<br />
a flameworking fire dancing bride.<br />
The audience will be asked to put the<br />
finishing touches on the dress. There<br />
will be live percussion, scorching tunes,<br />
performances by each of our players,<br />
cake and hot shop team technique.<br />

Fun Auction<br />
Will Farmer, Director of Fieldings<br />
Auctioneers, and a regular on BBC’s<br />
Antiques Roadshow, will once again<br />
be taking charge of this event, raising<br />
vital <strong>Festival</strong> funds and bringing<br />
lashings of humour and excitement<br />
as the four day <strong>Festival</strong> comes to a<br />
close. At each <strong>Festival</strong>, the Fun Auction<br />
draws in the crowds and what started<br />
as a light hearted end to the <strong>Festival</strong><br />
has grown into an exciting event<br />
where artists can sell work and bidders<br />
can bag themselves a real bargain!<br />

<strong>Glass</strong>hionistas<br />
This year’s <strong>Festival</strong> Finale will be a<br />
shimmering vision of spectacle and<br />
sparkle - part show, part parade,<br />
<strong>Glass</strong>hionistas is an opportunity to<br />
celebrate all that glistens and gleams<br />
with a glass themed Mardi Gras style<br />
pageant. <strong>Glass</strong> artists have been<br />
asked to create wearable glass art<br />
and an unrestrained evening of<br />
raucous fun, creativity and riotous<br />
laughter is assured. Over 16s only.<br />
