The Gold Coast is a world-renowned
holiday destination with beautiful golden
beaches, fun parks, cafes, restaurants and
are the beautiful Sunshine Coast beaches,
National Parks, the Glass House Mountains,
rainforests and the famous Australia Zoo.

old shipwrecks. Off the coast are Moreton
and Stradbroke Islands. The bay is protected
from the ocean swells by Stradbroke Island
and here visitors find expansive stretches of
sandy beaches and national parks.
ALUMNI GROUP
The Alumni is an important aspect of the
continuation in care and support offered to
Foundation Year students. Many students
keep in touch with their Foundation Year
teachers and friends via the UQFY alumni
group on Facebook. They share their
challenges, triumphs and career experiences
and provide a support network that
continues into their professional working
lives.
Events such as alumni dinners and reunions
strengthen this network and provide
opportunities for past students to meet
and share the experiences they had at
Foundation Year.
These interactions also occur during
Foundation Year visits to The University
of Queensland campus. These visits are
designed to introduce our students to the
campus and the academic school they
are aiming to study at in the coming year.
During the visit, Alumni students attend
and give valuable insight regarding the
differences between Foundation Year and
University.
