Financial Aid and Scholarships Strategic Research Scholarship (SRS) The Strategic Research Scholarship (SRS) is available to both domestic and international applicants whose research falls into one of the areas of strategic research growth at CQUniversity. The SRS provides the successful candidate with a stipend valued at $45,000 (2009 rate) per annum. There is a relocation reimbursement available as well as a support grant of $2,000 per annum and a thesis binding allowance. This scholarship is only available to applicants wishing to study internally at an Australian domestic campus. Number: Entry Requirements: Application: Three available per year 1st class honours or equivalent You must complete the International Scholarship Application form, together with the Application for Admission form and forward them to the Office of Research at CQUniversity Rockhampton for processing. Master of Business Administration (MBA) Scholarship The MBA Scholarship is available to students studying at CQUniversity Rockhampton. Successful candidates receive a 33% reduction to their tuition fees for the duration of their program. Entry Requirements: Assessed on a case-by-case basis by a selection panel. Application: Students must complete the MBA Scholarship Application form and the Application for Admission form and submit them to CQUniversity Rockhampton for processing. NOTE: If you have the required work experience to enter directly into the MBA program, you can articulate through the Graduate Certificate to the Graduate Diploma in Management and then to the MBA and still receive a 33% reduction in tuition fees for all programs. Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship The CQUniversity Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship is available to new CQUniversity students who wish to study at CQUniversity Rockhampton, Gold Coast and Sydney*. Successful candidates receive a 20% reduction to their tuition fees for the duration of their program, providing you maintain satisfactory academic progress. *undergraduate only Entry Requirements: Available to new CQUniversity students. Assessed case-by-case on prior academic achievement. Application: Students are to complete the Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship Application form and the Application for Admission form and submit them to their preferred campus for processing. NOTE: VC Scholarship Students can choose degrees from any faculty for this scholarship and are assessed by a panel on a case-by-case basis. AusAID Scholarships The Australian Government’s overseas aid program (AusAID) aims to increase access to and the quality of education and training for people in partner countries. CQUniversity is contracted by AusAID to administer two different Australian Government Scholarships available for suitably eligible international students. Australian Development Scholarships (ADS) provide partner countries with the opportunity to strengthen its human resource capacity through offering scholarships to individuals within key institutions, to undertake tertiary studies in Australia in areas relevant to the development needs of the country. Applications are made through the AusAID office in the applicant’s home country. Australian Leadership Awards (ALA) are awarded to people who are already leaders or have potential to assume leadership roles that can influence social and economic policy reform and development outcomes, both in their own countries and in the Asia and Pacific region. How to apply Selecting the right application form • To apply for a Coursework Program, complete the Application for Admission form attached. • To apply for a Research Program, please download the Research Application form from www.international.cqu.edu.au/ pdf/research.pdf. • To apply for an English Course, complete the CQUniversity English Language Centre Application for Admission form attached. Note: All application forms are available at www.international.cqu.edu.au. Click on ‘How to Apply’ to download the relevant application form or apply online. Articulations and credit exemptions To view articulations with other institutions or any advanced standing that may be relevant to your previous studies and the exemptions you are eligible to receive for studies with CQUniversity, please visit http://articulation.cqu.edu.au You must include proof of preliminary program, for example a Letter of Offer and an eCOE for an Advanced Diploma from another institution if you are applying for an articulation. To apply for credit exemptions, you must include certified* copies of your awarded certificates, transcripts, testamur and subject outlines (in English). CQUniversity assess on a case-by-case basis for programs where there is no formal articulation or for incomplete qualifications. Action required by student STEP 1 Lodge application to the relevant campus via the Recruitment office or your agent. Check that all supporting certified* documents are attached by using the checklist on the application form. STEP 4 Ensure all conditions (if any) have been satisfied. STEP 5 To accept your offer and apply for your electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (eCOE), you will need to return: • International Student Contract with your signature and passport number • Remittance Advice Form • Make your first payment** via electronic remittance, credit card or bank deposit STEP 8 Apply for your student visa STEP 9 Make travel arrangements. Ensure you arrive for enrolment and orientation. Action required by CQUniversity STEP 2 Application assessed STEP 3 Offer made. Offer of Admission Folder will include: • Offer Letter • International Student Contract • Remittance Advice Form • Electronic Remittance Advice Form • Credit Card Authority Form • Bank Account Details Form STEP 6 Payment received STEP 7 Electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (eCOE) issued. *Certification stamp must include the certifiers’ printed name, title or position, signature and date of notary. It may be obtained from a Justice of Peace, Commissioner of Declaration, a contracted agent of CQUniversity or the issuing authority or institution. **Payment In Australia – AU$1000 deposit.
