What makes it so special? LUXURY is already a huge fan of this ingenious
clutch, shoulder bag to rucksack. In September, hard graft released a new
2UNFOLD limited edition. Completely made of a full vegetable tan Italian
leather in a rich steel grey colour with a hint of teal and a chestnut brown
shoulder strap, each bag will be individually numbered and highly prized.
The Langham London has a rich and diverse history dating
back to 1814. Originally built as a mansion, it was only in
1863 that it was converted into a hotel, including the first
ever hydraulic lifts, for the then astronomical amount of
£300,000. For almost a century, The Langham remained
the place to stay for visiting elite, royalty, statesmen, artists,
writers and musicians. Even during the First World War, it was
business as usual, with guests sheltering in the basement on
wicker chairs and cushions during raids.
The designers wanted to create a suite that was contemporary
and opulent, the sort of place that made guests feel sexy
and special. Their vision was realised by combining materials
such as velvet, silk taffeta and toile with clever lighting and
artwork to create a space that inspired endless possibilities
and experiences for every guest.
Which brings us to their Pièce de résistance - an infinity bath
in the master bedroom called the sōk. This ultra deep bath,
from iconic bathroom brand Kohler, constantly overflows to
create the sound of cascading water. Designed around the
concept of chromatherapy, at the touch of a button, the water
moves through a spectrum of eight colours (from relaxing to
stimulating) while the gentle massaging of Champagne-like
bubbles accentuates the therapeutic experience.
Proporta USB TurboCharger 3400
What is it? Mobile devices charger.
What makes it so special? If you’ve ever run out of power for
one of your gadgets at the most inconvenient time, then you
would know exactly how handy this little baby would be. Slim
and lightweight, it is perfect for travelling and will allow you to
charge anytime and anywhere. And with the 3400 mAh battery
storage, there are quite a few recharges in there too.
After the depression and World War II, the building took on
a new role by housing the Palm Court Orchestra, a handful
of BBC comedy acts and BBC’s library and bar. In 1986, after
a failed attempt to get the building demolished, the tide
changed for this grand dame and it was back into the hotel
game for her. Today, after an £80 million restoration, The
Langham is again considered one of the most stylish hotels in
London and has a regular stream of famous visitors that pass
through its doors.
For those lucky enough to be able to, the only option for
a truly decadent and luxurious stay is the Infinity Suite. At
236m 2 , this two-bedroom suite with private entrance lobby,
drawing room and pantry kitchen hits all the right notes.
Chromatherapy, a branch of Colour Therapy, projects
coloured light onto specific areas of the body to stimulate the
body’s own healing systems. It not only benefits the body
(resulting in nourished skin, better digestion and a fortified
immune system), it also has a relaxing and refreshing effect
on the mind and can be used to improve mood and mental
functions. The therapeutic qualities of the colours used in
Chromatherapy include:
Red: stimulating, energising the body and senses
Orange: warming, restorative, emotionally soothing
Yellow: uplifting, toning, fortifying to body and mind
Green: harmonising, relaxing, balancing, cleansing
Aqua Blue: cooling, calming, refreshing, cleansing
Indigo Blue: cooling, sedating, soothing to the mind
Violet: restorative, regenerating, rejuvenating
White: sparkling, purifying, renewing
With all the features that the Infinity Suite offers, one thing
is for sure; you’ll check out a vastly happier and healthier
person than when you checked in. And it is that level of
dedication to the guests’ experience that epitomises a stay
with The Langham London.
