Trial and punishment<br />
So far (March 2008), “suspicious” receipts of “as little as” EUR 449 mln, discovered in<br />
the investigation at COM, have been shown officially. The media, referring to sources close to<br />
D&P LLP, estimate that suspicious payments sum up to EUR 1.6 billion and about EUR 3<br />
billion 2 in the whole corporation. As a result of incorrectly booked receipts the recalculated<br />
financial result for the accounting year 2005-2006 was lower by EUR 73 mln (EUR 3.033<br />
billion), yet in 2006 the net profit was higher than in the previous year by 34.9%, with a 16%<br />
growth in turnover. 3<br />
