THE LOCKER ROOM
From the Principal
Term 3 has seen another period of outstanding
performances from our players, parents, staff
and supporters.
The amount of help needed, and provided, to
enable Rugby – our highest participation sport –
to be played each weekend at home and away
is quite remarkable, made all the more satisfying
by the enjoyment and success of our young men.
Just as much work goes into our vastly improved
Basketball program.
Both sports have proven successful overall, with
the performances by our flagship teams – the
First V and First XV – deserving special mention
for the way in which they competed week after
week, often against much bigger teams, and for
their sportsmanship.
On the cultural front, our Debating and Chess
seasons also came to an end, and like Term 3
sports, both had successful seasons. Our Senior
A Debating Team finishing as QDU Champion
and our very young Premier Chess Board,
showing great potential for the future.
We also are blessed with outstanding amenities
at Tennyson and at our main campus at Spring
Hill and I would like to thank Mr Alan Kennedy
and Mr Craig Jesberg at Tennyson, Activities
Coordinators Mr Tyron Mandrusiak and Mr Sam
Mackinnon, Coordinators Ms Alex Cashin and
Mr Bruce Devine, and the Rugby, Basketball and
Debating Supporters’ Groups for what they have
done not just in Term 3 but in the lead-up.
Next term it is Track and Field, which already
has begun, and Gymnastics, which dominate
sports proceedings and I am sure that we will
once again, compete to the best of our ability and
always exhibit the very best of sportsmanship.

My thanks to the many staff, Old Boys, coaches,
referees and supporters for their hard work and
dedication during the term in ensuring that as
many of our students as possible are able to
undertake their chosen activity - no matter what
level.
