Significance of the Orbit Inclination Angle • The highest latitude a satellite can pass zenith is equal to the orbit inclination angle • Any GPS satellite will eventually be visible from any position in the Arctic • A geostationary satellite cannot be observed above a latitude of about 75° with e.g. a 5° elevation mask constraint. The longitude position might reduce this limit.
