The role of the Manager<br />
• Implements financial decisions made by the<br />
Board<br />
• Assist Treasurer to prepare Annual Budget<br />
• Carry out the operational management of the<br />
budget<br />
• Ensure the safe custody of all money<br />
• Ensure that adequate records are kept and<br />
audit trails are available for all transactions<br />
• Ensure compliance with taxation obligations<br />
• Review internal controls procures annually<br />
with the Treasurer<br />
• Prepare monthly financial reports for the<br />
Board<br />
• Assist in the development and<br />
implementation of financial management<br />
policies and procedures<br />
• Ensure that correct procedures are followed<br />
by staff<br />
• Supervises staff involved in financial<br />
management e.g. Bookkeeper<br />
Note that the Manager and the Treasurer have<br />
some shared responsibilities.<br />

• Follow the financial policies and procedures<br />
of the organization<br />
• Seek advice and assistance from the Manager<br />
as needed<br />

• Follow the financial policies and procedures<br />
of the organization<br />
Everyone in the organisation<br />
• All people involved with finances in the<br />
organization must act with honesty, with<br />
due care and diligence<br />
• Everyone should be informed of their rights<br />
and responsibilities<br />
• Everyone has the responsibility to act in a<br />
responsible, professional and ethical way<br />
• It is the responsibility of the Board to<br />
ensure that people with appropriate skills<br />
are managing the organizations finances<br />
• Staff (and volunteers if needed) must<br />
be given appropriate training to manage<br />
financial procedures<br />
Once roles have been decided a Delegations<br />
Matrix needs to be made. A Delegations<br />
Matrix clearly defines who is responsible for<br />
duties involved in financial management.<br />
Roles are easy to understand with a<br />
Delegations Matrix.<br />
