- Schoorl 1993:[xvi].
... With the exception of the villages of Toge and Kuken on its
west bank, the Kao River forms the western boundary of the area
they [Muyu] inhabit. But these villages were formed after 1935.
The northern boundary is hard to define. ... For the time
being it would seem correct to draw the line through Walikubun
and Kwitbon.
The eastern boundary is found mainly by the Mat, Birim,
Terry, and Fly rivers. The Mat is a tributary of the Birim that
in turn flows into the Terry, and this is a tributary of the Fly.
Some Muyu settlements are also found east of the Terry and the
Fly, almost as far as the government post at Kiungga in Papua New
Guinea. However, most of these settlements were formed by Muyu
from what used to be Dutch territory, who for some reason fled
their original area.
The southern boundary coincides more or less with that of
the onderafdeling [i.e., the Kao/Digul junction].
- Schoorl 1993:7.
... there certainly were dialectal differences between the Ninati
dialect and the language spoken in Tumutu and surrounding
villages. Because the Muyu used to be so dispersed, and had so
many relations that did not depend on dialectal differnces, no
clear-cut dividing lines can be drawn in their area.
