being initiated in our two ceremonials in
2012. Each and every one of us wins when Murat meets and
exceeds this goal.
It is truly a pleasure and honor to be selected as the
Membership Director for Murat temple. Being a Shriner is a passion
for many of us, helping those children who need our care.
Membership will take a direction never before seen with
Murat temple. The Membership team will be utilizing proven
marketing strategies to help promote, educate and grow
Membership to a level not seen for the past several years.
Membership will be working hand in hand with the
Indiana Grand Lodge, the Scottish Rite, the nobility of Murat temple,
and most importantly, the general public. Most of us are
aware that Shriners Hospitals are the world’s best keep secret. It’s
not going to be a secret much longer in central Indiana.
For those who attended the Murat Leadership Seminar in
January, you saw the presentation that Carl Culmann and I gave

on Membership. Our motto that was introduced, “But we’ve
ALWAYS done it this way” with a red circle around it and a line
through it, demonstrates the level of activities we are willing to
take to grow Membership.
One of the many initiatives presented during the seminar
was the development of county and unit chairmen in the Murat
areas of Indiana. Several chairmen have already been named
and several more nobles expressed their interest in becoming
chairmen in their respective county Clubs & Units. This is an area
for us that can make an immediate impact on the number of candidates
we can initiate during the May ceremonial.
Becoming a good community citizen, reaching out to the
ladies' organizations, and visiting the young men and women of
area universities are just a few of the new and different outreach
activities the Membership team is planning for 2012.
We encourage everyone to visit

mentor program has already been started for 2012. Being a virtual
mentor enables Murat nobles to be a mentor to those
prospects who are looking for direction and purpose in becoming
a Master Mason and/or continuing their pursuit for further
light in becoming a Shriner. This is one of many examples of the
“new and different” ways to educate, promote and answer those
questions about Shriners and Shriners Hospitals for Children.
Finally, and probably the most important thing we can do
to drive Membership is for each of us to speak to a friend, colleague,
relative, client, or just a good person who we know is
already a Master Mason and ask for a few moments of their time
to talk about Shriners. If each of us would have that short conversation,
just think about how many new nobles Murat temple
could have in 2012.
NEVER PAY DUES AGAIN!!!!
That’s right!! You now have the opportunity to help
Murat Shrine build its membership and never pay dues
again!!
Deadline for Reservations is April 4, 2012
$100 deposit due for each room plus $20 registration for
each in room plus $20 per person for hospitality.
Reservations can be made through the Fraternal Office.
If you sponsor and Top-Line Sign three petitions this
year, your dues for 2012 will be free. Better yet … be the
Top-Line Signer on 15 new petitions and your dues are
free for the rest of your life!!!
So get out there and ask your buddies to join you in supporting
our Shriners Hospitals and our fraternity. Let
them know how much fun you have at Murat Shrine!!!
