2013 ADOPTED BUDGET • LAS VEGAS HOUSING MARKET STATISTIC VIDEO Every month, GLVAR produces a local housing market video with the key takeaways from the monthly MLS statistical reports for Members, the media, and members of the public. • MONTHLY LAS VEGAS HOUSING STATISTICS Every month GLVAR produces a seven page statistics report with data captured in the MLS from the previous month. The reports are posted in the Newsroom at LasVegasRealtor.com. EDUCATION GLVAR offers a wide variety of CE courses at minimal cost to meet your needs. Educational opportunities include: • RISK REDUCTION GRADUATE (RRG) CERTIFICATION COURSES Earn your RRG certification to interpret and gain a better understanding of contracts and the laws that govern them. • 24 HOUR CONTINUING EDUCATION CRASH COURSES ($120.00 package). This program is offered once a month. Most schedules are completed in only three days. The schedule includes day and evening courses to meet our Members’ needs. • 5-DAY POST LICENSING (1ST YEAR LICENSEES) CRASH COURSES ($175.00). GLVAR offers the opportunity for first year licenses to complete the required 30 hours of post licensing education, every other month, in a bundled format. • NAR CERTIFICATION/DESIGNATION COURSES GLVAR provides an affordable option for Members to obtain NAR certifications and designations at a convenient location. • COMPLIMENTARY SEMINARS on timely real estate topics. GLVAR developed a seminar series to ensure Members receive current information on timely real estate-related issues presented by industry experts. • MONTHLY $10 C.E. SPECIALS These monthly specials allow Members to earn six hours of C.E. credits by attending two courses in one day at a discounted price. • SINGLE TOPIC EDUCATION SCHEDULES The Education Department offers several schedules on specific topics Members can take to enhance their professional education. For example, there are schedules of classes for Property Management license renewal, specialized Broker courses and schedules for Members wishing to expand their knowledge of foreclosure and short sales. EVENTS Members are able to attend a variety of events throughout the year from a wide range of interests. Events are held to support interaction between fellow Members, Affiliates and vendors. Members are encouraged provide input on future events or programs they like to attend to assist them with their businesses. GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETINGS These meetings are held for the benefit of the Membership at large and include programs showcasing timely topics, National speakers, lunch, required Membership votes and CE classes. Members who attend these meetings receive their deposit credited back to their GLVAR account once admission has been verified. GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS Members benefit from a team of topnotch professionals in the fields of legislation and regulation tasked to achieve tangible results for our Members in the political arena both locally and nationally. Members have a number of opportunities to participate in grass roots efforts. LEADERSHIP TRAINING Members have the opportunity to develop and enhance their leadership skills through participation in committee leadership roles and task force and work group appointments. NVAR LEGAL HOT LINE Members are able to use a toll free number to contact an attorney available to answer any legal real estate concerns. LIBRARY GLVAR houses a library stocked with current real estate-specific materials that Members can check out. Items available for check out include: training videos/DVDs, publications books and reference materials. MEMBER BENEFIT PARTNERS Members have access to 166, and counting, local businesses offering services at discounted rates. MLS SERVICES MarketLinx CoreLogic is the state of the art Multiple Listing Service Provider for GLVAR Members. The NEW Fusion MLS Corelogic product launched in 2012 is compatible with all browsers. Access includes: • MLS PROFESSIONAL for all subscribers which provides a website for the Member; client web pages; lead capture and more • PROPERTY PANORAMA allows you to quickly and easily create and distribute virtual tours along with mobile media tours for sign riders • REALIST a tax-based and mapping tool with demographics premiered in 2012 • DOCUMENT MANAGER – a powerful tool to manage every phase of the real estate transaction and Fax Manager – fully integrated with Document Manager – no scanning necessary • IMPREV a postcard & flyer application • DATA COOP a robust search engine giving Members the ability to search other U.S. areas and also allows other MLS’s to view GLVAR listings • MLXWIRELESS a mobile application for MLS data which [ 24 ] SOUTHERN NEVADA REALTOR ® DECEMBER 2012 www.LasVegasRealtor.com
2013 ADOPTED BUDGET give Members the ability to search and modify listings on their hand-held device or tablet solutions including the iPad. • STATS PROFESSIONAL which enables Members to track area statistics with charts and graphs • RATEPLUG is an optional application that provides reports for Members that includes lender-supplied information for their listings • RETS IQ application which will provide a higher level of security for IDX feeds • FANNIE MAE SHORT SALE ASSISTANCE DESK (SSAD) In 2012 GLVAR’s MLS introduced the SSAD to help Members and their clients better manage their Short Sale transactions. NEW COMMITTEES TO MEET NEEDS OF FORWARD THINKING MEMBERS Budgeted for 2013 are the Global Business Committee, the Green Committee, and the Market Conditions Committee. GLVAR is committed to being responsive to the needs of Members by updating programs and services to meet the ever-changing environment in which you practice. PROFESSIONAL MANAGEMENT GLVAR has secured a top notch, professional staff to ensure that programs, products and services are delivered in the most cost-effective manner while maintaining a leadership role among REALTOR ® organizations and keeping our REALTOR ® Members in the forefront. PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS GLVAR’s Professional Standards staff coordinates arbitration, ethics and mediation dispute resolution. The staff is looking forward to celebrating the 2013 Centennial Celebration of the Code of Ethics. Watch for more information and historical tidbits throughout the year at GLVAR. REALTOR.COM Recognizing that an increasing number of homebuyers use the internet to search for homes, GLVAR continues to make a commitment to “Showcase” our Members’ listings in REALTOR.com. This enhancement, which would cost an individual Member hundreds to thousands of dollars annually, give them the ability to feature their listings as never before and directs prospective buyers directly to them. The showcase service allows Members to upload up to 35 photos with 80 character captions, headlines, scrolling text, and display listing videos. All GLVAR Members have complimentary access to this marketing tool that clients appreciate. REAL STORE Located in the lobby of the GLVAR building, the REAL Store offers a wide variety of specialty merchandise including sign riders, open house signs and banners, a stock of closing gifts, REALTOR ® branded t-shirts, jewelry and real estate-related books. An improved online version of the REAL Store will be launched by the end of the first quarter of 2013. Members will be able to browse an online catalog of supplies and place orders at their convenience any time of day. All online orders include next day local delivery. SCHOLARSHIPS Reinstated in 2012, a variety of scholarships are available to assist REALTORS ® in obtaining professional designations. College scholarships are also available for REALTORS ® or members of their families pursuing higher education degrees. SUPRA LOCKBOX SYSTEM Display boxes and keys to assist with listing management YPN (YOUNG PROFESSIONALS NETWORK) Added in 2011, GLVAR has a local chapter of NAR’s “Under 40” Member group. A budget has been provided for 2013 to grow the Membership and participation. ZIPFORM GLVAR uses ZipForms to provide Members with online forms from listing contracts to duties owed. The service also includes training and support. Utilizing the most current technology at the best value, GLVAR has incorporated ZipLogix’s Digital Ink product with unlimited usage for all Members. This product incorporates digital signatures with actual ZipForm documents. The 2013 Annual Budget also includes the following. • Funds have been allocated for capital expenditures to replace some computers and upgrade audio visual equipment. • Late in 2012, the Association added Cyber Liability Coverage to better protect the Association and its Members in the event of a data breach. • The budget for Staff Training has been increased for 2013 to train our staff through an internet-based training that will cover federally mandated training on discrimination and harassment, OSHA, safety, as well as specific topics such as customer service.
