2012 SCORECARD<br />
Monthly classes are scheduled to familiarize the<br />
Membership with this new version of their multiple<br />
listing service.<br />
• The Commercial Alliance has contracted with<br />
Xcelligent, a new and fully researched property data<br />
base that will provide Members with documentation<br />
of all commercial properties in Las Vegas. The new<br />
benefit will greatly enhance the ability of commercial<br />
REALTORS ® to research, lease and sell properties.<br />
• The Association has contracted for Clareity’s Single<br />
Sign On product that will enable Members to login to<br />
one portal and access all of the integrated applications<br />
that the Association provides during a single browser<br />
session. This will give Members a clear picture of all<br />
of the services, tools and applications available while<br />
saving them time.<br />
• Created a One Step to Recovery initiative to help the<br />
community climb out of the recession<br />
• Created three new and highly relevant committees:<br />
Global, Green and Market Conditions<br />
• In its first year, the Global Committee was recognized<br />
by NAR this month with the Gold Level Award of<br />
excellence for their organization and programming.<br />
• Reduced prices and included free classes to help the<br />
Membership in the current economy and offered seminars<br />
on timely marketplace issues. Over 400 sessions have<br />
served approximately 2,200 Members each month.<br />
• Conducted an overall assessment on the health of the<br />
Association<br />
• Reviewed and updated Bylaws, Policies and Procedures<br />
for clarity and consistency<br />
• Conducted an expanded annual financial audit which<br />
was published to the Membership in September<br />
• Developed a Strategic Plan through a series of sessions<br />
with an outside consultant<br />
• Developed a Condo Certification verification through<br />
the MLS<br />
• Hired a new CEO<br />
• Moved to a neutral third-party electronic election service<br />
• Appointed a Presidential Advisory Group to research<br />
a new consumer-based public website which is up for<br />
approval by the Board at their December meeting<br />
• Changed CPA firms<br />
• Changed insurance brokers<br />
• Reviewed all service contracts<br />
• Selecting a new outside law firm<br />
• Researched additional new service providers<br />
• GLVAR was chosen for a visit from Michael Wellsmore, an<br />
international REALTOR ® Ambassador from Australia who<br />
was visiting several markets in the United States.<br />
Wellsmore is past president of theAustralian equivalent<br />
of our National Association of REALTORS ® .<br />
• The Commercial Alliance conducted their annual<br />
Educational Symposium featuring national speakers<br />
who attracted a large Member turnout.<br />
• On the Global front, GLVAR was able to host the<br />
five-day CIPS (Certified International Property<br />
Specialist) Designation. This Designation is becoming<br />
more important locally with the recognition of<br />
Las Vegas as the second most searched city in the<br />
U.S. by foreign investors.<br />
• The Association was honored by the dedication of<br />
a classroom at the College of Southern Nevada. The<br />
room is named for GLVAR in appreciation of the<br />
more than $120,000 in scholarships donated by the<br />
Association over the years. It is the first classroom<br />
to be dedicated to an organization at the College.<br />
• GLVAR hired a new Parliamentarian, Past President<br />
Dale Puhl.<br />
• President Kelley was invited to represent the real<br />
estate industry on deliberations at the new Regional<br />
Development Agency where plans are being made<br />
for the next five years of economic, education and<br />
infrastructure development in southern Nevada.<br />
Again, GLVAR has a seat at the table.<br />
• RETechnology has been added as a Member benefit.<br />
It features reports on up-to-the-minute real estate<br />
technology and tools.<br />
• Officers and the CEO began making visits to<br />
Member offices to discuss benefits and respond to<br />
questions and concerns<br />
• December 2nd marks the 65th Anniversary of<br />
GLVAR’s founding. Press releases will highlight the<br />
long tradition of community involvement by GLVAR<br />
Members that has helped make Las Vegas an attractive<br />
place to live, work, play and retire.<br />
GLVAR WILL BE WORKING ON:<br />
• Revising Candidate training for 2013<br />
• Evaluating major programs and services<br />
• Providing regular training on the use of realtor.com<br />
features and tools noted under Smartlinks on the MLS site<br />
• Increasing voter registration by 20 percent<br />
• Launching a Pathways to Professionalism campaign<br />
• Conducting an expanded Board and Committee<br />
training session<br />
• New Member and Broker Orientations are being<br />
reviewed and revised<br />
• Visits to Members in their offices continue to be<br />
scheduled in order to listen to their needs and raise<br />
their awareness of existing benefits<br />
• Through NAR online programs, a baseline of<br />
information is being established for all Staff to use in<br />
assisting Members<br />
