Why everyone should try it?
Software and computers are virtually everywhere and
are changing the world. Programming improves logical
thinking and self-esteem, teaches patience, precision
and persistence. Many well-known people
from the IT industry started coding at a very young age:
Mark Zuckerberg (11 years old), Bill Gates (13 years old)
or Elon Musk (10 years old) to name a few.
Everyone attending our courses will acquire solid dose
of algorithms, programming and STEM knowledge
while having tons of fun!
What do we code in?
Junior adepts (8-13 years old)
Scrach and Alice – learn basics of computer programming
and algorithms. Both platforms allow to create 2D
and 3D games, stories and videos using a technic called
“visual programming”.
Senior adepts (12-18 years old)
Minecraft and Robocode learn real programming language
– Java (one of top 5 most popular programming
languages in the world). Create mods of Minecraft and
battle robo-tank Al to fight against friend’s robo-tanks.
Leaf & Pumpkin
composting program is
underway!
Bring your leaves and pumpkins to a depot near
you until November 8
Fall is in the air – and on the ground. As Calgarians tidy
up their yards they can bring their bagged leaves and
pumpkins to one of our 36 drop-off locations around
the city. By composting this material it keeps it out of
the landfill, reduces harmful greenhouse gas emissions
and helps turn the leaves and pumpkins into
useful compost. We recommend using paper yard
waste bags as they can be composted with the rest of
the material. No sod or rocks please.
