Program Description: <strong>The</strong> Inland Northwest Center for<br />
Writers offers an intensive, two-year, pre-professional course<br />
of study with an emphasis on the practice of literature as a fine<br />
art. <strong>The</strong> program is intellectually rigorous and includes course<br />
work in the study of literature from the vantage point of its<br />
composition and his<strong>to</strong>ry. <strong>The</strong> student’s principal work is done in<br />
advanced workshops and in the writing a of a book-length thesis<br />

Program Description: In the Goddard College <strong>Creative</strong><br />
<strong>Writing</strong> program, students work with faculty advisors <strong>to</strong><br />
develop rigorous individualized study plans for finding and<br />
strengthening their creative voices and creative professional<br />
lives. <strong>The</strong> first low-residency writing program, the Goddard<br />
MFA supports students writing fiction, poetry, memoir, plays,<br />
screenplays, graphic novel scripts, and nonfiction. <strong>The</strong> faculty<br />
are professional, working authors and also devoted, effective<br />
teachers. Students can gain editing experience with the studentrun<br />
Pitkin Review literary journal, and residencies include<br />
publishing workshops. <strong>The</strong> Goddard MFA includes the unique<br />
and rewarding teaching practicum, in which students teach<br />
creative craft in workshop, community, and college settings.<br />
