18-minute train ride from Manhattan. Our award-winning<br />

faculty truly men<strong>to</strong>r our poets and fiction writers; our<br />

studio/research MFA offers workshops, thesis hours, and<br />

<strong>The</strong> master of fine arts (M.F.A.) program in creative<br />

and professional writing at William Paterson University<br />

provides a supportive academic environment focused on<br />

the production of high-caliber writing.<br />

New Mexico<br />

New Mexico State University<br />

<strong>Creative</strong> <strong>Writing</strong> Program :: MA, MFA<br />

Students electing this emphasis choose a major genre:<br />

poetry or fiction. Students must complete fifty-four hours<br />

of graduate-level course work, submit a creative writing<br />

thesis, give a public reading from the thesis, and pass an<br />

oral examination.<br />

This three-year degree combines studio-based workshops<br />

in fiction, poetry and creative nonfiction with craft seminars<br />
